Re: Switching from Software developmet to Business Analyst

You can do 3 things;

1. Listen to this episode of my opdcast --> http://thebusinessanalystpodcast.blogspot.com/2009/07/episode-009-recruiting-junior-business.html

2. In short;

2.1 Start doing BA stuff in your current programmer job.

2.2 Such as: make UC Models, activity diagrams.

2.3 Change mindset forget about program code, and servers. Think of going to vacation. You shouldnt care if you fly in Boeing or Airbus. U want a big plane to take you to the vacation destination.  Thats how users think. As techie you'd wanna know the plane size, speed, nav equipment and how it works.  End users genrally dont care about such details.

2.4 Buy a book Teach yourself UML in 21 days. Its a good intro containing Agile methods, UML and general idea about how to get started.

3. Start listening to my podcast.
