2 other questions are: 1) What is your budget?  2) How much training will you want to learn how to use the software?

I have a copy of a free requirements management tool but I can't got a clue about how to make it work ;)

Nicolae,

Have you tried Microsoft's Visio? It is the one, I am using and it is good.

Re: Need help on picking a requirements management tool

 Hi Nicolae,

I would suggest having a look at http://brightgreenprojects.com

Bright Green Projects is an easy to use and intuitive web based application to manage your requirements. Not only is it used for requirements, but it can also manage issues and risks. Bright Green is also very collaborative. All entities can be commented on and Bright Green will eventually end up replacing your email for all Requirement related discussions.

The founders of Bright Green have been working as Business Analysts on large scale implementations for around 10 years.  We never quite found the tool we wanted, so decided to build one ourselves!

We have a 21 day free trial, so please sign up and have a look around.

Adam

Depending on your needs, you might try Requirements Composer. You can get a free trial at jazz.net.   http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Rational-Requirements-Composer/47378244431?ref=ts  It provides visual and textual techniques for gathering, defining, and reviewing requirements on a collaborative platform. There are also a few demoes on youtube you can look at. Search on Rational Requirements Composer or go directly to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zzicwf5m00  You can also get up to date info on Composer on the facebook fan page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Rational-Requirements-Composer/47378244431?ref=ts
