MBA or MIS
Greetings!  I'm a Business Systems Analyst working in the Higher Ed industry.  One of the nice perks of this industry is that I get steep discounts on degrees, so I'm planning on getting my Masters on the side.  My question:  My college provides both an MBA and a Masters in Management Information Systems.  Which do you feel would benefit me more professionally?  All other things being equal, which degree would you prefer your employee to have?

Re: MBA or MIS

Brandon,

Many MBAs are offered with a couple of different focus paths that you can choose from that allow you to do a deeper dive within those areas.  These can range from accounting, to finance, or even MIS or similar focus.  Check out if your school offers the ability to pick a focus.  An MBA with and MIS style focus would be ideal!

Re: MBA or MIS
Thanks Chris!  I looked deeper into the MBA program and they do offer an MIS specialization.  I believe that's the route I will take.  Thank you again for the tip!
