Hi,
I have moved from marketing to bidding to Business analyst's role in my career, then i had a baby and i quit in july 08, now that i want to resume work it seems that i lack a lot of technical abilities. as in my previous jobs i had been doing a very generalistc BA job i.s writing use cases and other documents but not following any methodology or the fancier process in perticuler.
I am an MBA with technicals skills like Visio and MS office and around 4 years of experience.
Please suggest me how to improve my abilities to fetch a good job i am also open to take up a course if that will help.
Thanks
Devhuti
I left work for about 2 years after 7 years in the IT industry to do some volunteer work. When I returned it was very difficult to get another IT position even though the economy was pretty upbeat. Eventually, I registered for school and took a tech support position way below my technical abilities and pay -grade. But I found that this was the catalyst to getting me back in IT. My suggestion would be to join a few professional organizations and network to try to get your foot back in the door. Once you are in, your talent will outshine whatever position you end up. I excelled at the IT support position for the first few weeks and then I was asked to take on more responsibilities. 2 years later and 3 contracts later I was back at the level I was when I left. I credit two things with my re-emergence in the tech field. Perseverance....and not frowning on positions that were below my talent level/pay grade. I may have been bored to death, but I completed my tasks swiftly and with great effeciency. hope this helps.
Thanks you for your reply... yes i think that it is the only possible solution.
But can u please suggest if i should take some training or certificate course also
