Choose between BA and Business Research Manager

Hi All,

Presently I am an Associate Manager for Business Research (Healthcare Analytics-30 Member Team). But Now I have been asked to move into Business Analyst Role (Includes all Projects, not limited to Healthcare). I am now in dilemma as I have already been a Manager and have a Team, but if I move to BA now will it be a downgrade? or is it a wise decision as I will understand Customer needs in all aspects?? Please Suggest

"I am an Associate Manager" and "if I move to BA now will it be a downgrade"

"DOWNGRADE" ?

After 30+ years of doing this stuff ... in all kinds of "Jack-Of-All-Trades", Hands-On, Multi-Hat roles getting things done ... including making fresh coffee ... I prefer not to get stuck in some management position just bossing a team around.

I Do Not Believe that being some kind of Manager for one project and then being a Business Analyst or Programmer for any other project is any kind of "DOWNGRADE" ... every role is just as important to build and deliver a successful product.

People must drop Egos and be able to fit in and work together ... Collaborate, Facilitate, Coordinator, Coach, Mentor, Support, etc. ... whatever it takes ... without thinking you have been Downgraded.
