Which software is used to report improvement in the software to developers?

I was working in a company as a business analyst trainee. When I went at client site, I used MS Word to report problems in the software and enhancements .

I had to quit that company for some reason.

Now when I go for the business analyst interview,  what I observed is , some interviewer make faces when I tell them that I used MS WORD.

So, I just want to know , is there any specific software for the same ? ( Not for diagrams though).

Hi,

Automated reporting can help you document compliance and eliminate the errors, inconsistency, and wasted time and effort inherent in manual reporting. Automated measurement can help improve processes and streamline project delivery.Automated reporting and measurement tools, such as Publishing Engine and Rational Insight, help software and systems development teams provide accurate, timely, and appropriate information to decision makers.

Check out things like:

  • Atlassian's JIRA
  • Sharepoint
  • probably something like Quality Centre does it too but I'm not familiar with QC much

Lots of other products around.

Its about automated tracking, configurable bug processes, priority and states, reporting, etc.
