requirement management tool

I'm looking for a easy to use requirement management tool for a stand-alone setup. Any suggestion?

Re: requirement management tool

Paulo,

Have to tried Sparx EA (Enterprise Architect)? It is standalone and also enterprise (can be migrated into ORACLE) The back-end is an MS Access database which is good enough for desktop. At 500US-ish for a 4-user license it's one of the better bangs for your buck.

It is a modeling tool so you'll have to have an understanding of UML. Check out http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/ and grab the evaluation copy. If traceability is important to your requirements work plan (and it should be!) then this little gem will really help establish associations between elements.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: requirement management tool

Hi Paulo,

Two other popular tools are:

Rational Requisite Pro: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/reqpro/

Doors: http://www.telelogic.com/products/doors/index.cfm

Best regards,

Re: requirement management tool

Here are some others I picked up from the Yahoo Requirements Engineering Group.

Some have free trial periods. Some are web based tools.  Have a look.  If you end up trying one, let us know what you think about it.
