Doubt about using use cases !!!

I am working as Business Analyst, All the Interview I attend, I was questioned about the use case diagrams. But I never used 'use case diagrams'. Because, here all we do is project based not product based.

All I use to do is Create/Review/Test the Business Requirement Document (BRD) based on the Vendor's requirement. Based on the BRD, we will be generate/sending files to the vendors either in ANSI format or Non-Ansi format.

Can any one please suggest me on 'how can I improve as a Business Analyst'

Re: Doubt about using use cases !!!

First of all go visit Alistair Cockburn's website and read up on use cases.

Secondly try writing yourself a job description for your current role and then compare it to hat you see in job advertisements.  What are the differences?  What skills are people looking for that you don't have?

Thirdly join a local chapter of IIBA or similar organization (eg Australian Computer Society in Australia), or seek some training from someone outside your employer.

Lastly keep reading and posting comments and questions here.
