Data Archival and Data Conversion Requirements documents

Hi guys, I am on a project where we are migrating the accounting business area from Peoplesoft to SAP. I am expected to come up with a data archival brd as they will like to retain some of their data for regulatory and compliance purposes and I am also supposed to come up with a data conversion brd as they will like convert data from 5 years and their quarterly balances. I will like to get help from anyone who is a professional or has experience in writing BRDs for data archival and conversion. I wouldn't mind paying for this help. Also, if theres anyone who wants to give advice on what questions to ask stakeholders as regards data archival and conversion, i will appreciate that as well.

Re: Data Archival and Data Conversion Requirements documents

I would look at the years they want in the current system ... then do the Data Mapping between the two systems (same data but different field names) ... what do you have and they don't ... Gaps, Database Mods, etc.

The other years not used in the current system could be in some data warehouse to be accessed on need.

Each new year, will the oldest data in the current system be exported to the data warehouse ?

How will the users plan to access the data warehouse ? (Screens, Reports, Queries to run other programs against, etc).

Grandma June was as great a cook as she was a teacher to me. She never followed a recipe “to...
Now, I know, I don’t know what kind of new intro BPO may require, but at least I can promise you upfront that I have something different to say about Business Process Outsourcing or simply BPO. What is it? This hasn't been a call center job or a sales job as we all think. It is a mammoth profile, and firms are grappling to ge...
