I was immigrated to Canada 2 month ago. I have Bsc in Industrial Engineering and I have 9 years experince in different industries as  a Business process analyst,  but because I am a newcommer here my experince doesn't count . Could anybody advice me how should I put my feet on the door as a business analyst?

Your advice would be appreciated in advance.

Dear Mohammad,

I'm not sure why you believe that your previous experience would not count.  As long as you've done the types of activities which a prospective employer expects of you there should be no issues with your past experience.

Having said that, you should consider creating a functional resume which lists your skills and competencies first without being tied to a given job.  That should be the bulk of the resume.  After that you can simply list the previous jobs with just the company name, title, and dates.

The biggest barrier or most analysts which move to a new country is mastering a new language.  As a business/process analyst you will need to have strong communication and facilitation skills.  So make sure you work on those first.  Consider taking communication & facilitation courses.

I would also recommend that you take a couple of business analysis courses just to make sure that you do not have any major gaps in knowledge/skills.  This also looks good for potential employers since it shows that you are dedicated to the profession and are eager to learn.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your advice.I do my research on them. But  what kind of jobs do you recommend to start with to get a relative Canadian experience?

In today's fast-paced digital world, successful projects aren't just built on great code—they're built on clarity. And that clarity often comes from one key player: the Business Analyst. I have always loved cooking. I learned from my Grandma June and her kitchen was her sanctuary, a small, warm sunlit space filled with jars of spices, stacks of cookbooks, and the comforting smell of something always on the stove or baking in the oven. Grandma June was as great a cook as she was a teacher to me. She never followed a recipe “to...
