Is use cases enough?

Hi,

I´m new to the BA-role and in need of guidance. If you upgrading an old application to a new software platform and one of the goals is to not change any of it´s functionality, would you say that developing use cases for it´s functionality is enough documentation for testdesign or would you supplement it with any other documentation?

"one of the goals is to not change any of it´s functionality"

Stating that goal may be easy ... but how much work will be involved to do that is a different story.

Apparently you are going from an Old Application on one platform to a new software platform.

What are these two platforms ? What operating systems are they using ? Databases  , etc ?

If the platforms are ... say a mainframe to a PC ... there will be some major development ... coding, database conversions, etc. to keep the same functionality ... and there could be changes on user interfaces too.

Need More Specifics
