entry to BA from MBA

hey ,

I work as an Account Manager for Oracle in managing their e-business suite and siebel applications with 3 years experience on board. I hold an MBA degree from the University of Wales,Newport specialising in International Business and Strategy. Having a deep interest in IT; I beleive B.A. to be a good starter to the industry. I would like to club the business experience with IT and have already being in the research process for B.A. Could you suggest me relevant readings for the modules, BUsiness Analysis, essentials, Requirements engineering, organisational behaviour? Could I get an opening to taste the practical world of BA?

All suggestions are appreciated from experienced......

Thank you

These headings look very much like the ISEB BA certificates and diploma course. Well, they have some good resources particularly their BCS Book series. Check out Business Analysis by Yeates et. al. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Business-Analysis-Don-Yeates/dp/1902505700

Get a copy of the BABOK from IIBA - last time I looked it was still free.

With regards to getting a taste -  One of the things vendors get a lot of is Business Requirements as part of the tender/system selection process. Well you work for a switched-on IT services company. ASk your employer if you could get MORE involved in the "Sales process", which involves satisfying Business Requirements of your prospects/customers. You'll get to see examplars of some good business requirements.

warm regards,

K

Re: entry to BA from MBA

Yes, your MBA qualification will add to career path you decide to take. As a BA you are most of the time involved with business, business processes and improvements. An MBA degree gives you an edge to achieve business goals efficiently.

Also, it adds to the advantage that you understand the management concerns and have an ability to perform in the project Management areas.
