Process Mapping in VISIO

Hi,

I'm new to process mapping its my first BA role and I'm trying to fit a lot of information into a process map in Visio. I can't seem to find anyway of adding a body of text behind a process, is there a way of doing this?

For example I would have "play script 1" and then on this box there would be the 100+ word script. I know you can add comments but this isn't really that helpful.

Many thanks in advance

Re: Process Mapping in VISIO

It seems you are trying to place too much information in your process maps.  In order to keep process maps simple, certain decision logic should be encapsulated and referenced in other documents.  Similarly if you are triggering a script at some point in the process, this script should be maintained in a separate document and just referenced.  That way you can make changes to the script language and your process map is unaffected.

Take a look at this webinar the Modern Analyst hosted a few moth back.  I recommend you watch the entire webinar, however here is a bookmark to the portion that will explain how to keep unnecessary detail out of your process maps in just a few mins.
