Are there math questions on CBAP Exam

I'm using Watermark, B2T, and UCertify resources to study for the CBAP exam.  These sources conflict regarding the Decision Analysis technique; some say you only need to know the concepts behind the various financial calculations (Net Present Value, for example), while others say you need to both know the formulas and be able to use them.  To anyone who has taken the exam:  Which is correct?  If math is required, where you allowed to take a calculator with you, was one provided, or were you expected to just do this in your head?  Consider that these formulas involve exponents, I can't see myself being able to do this without a calculator.

Re: Are there math questions on CBAP Exam

You will not need to know the math for the exam.  You will need to know what the technique is, when it's used and what are its advantages and disadvantages.  I know the B2T catalouge well and I will also offer a better book for you to use - try CBAP / CCBA Certified Business Analysis Study Guide by Susan Weese and Terri Wagner Here is the amazon link: http://www.amazon.ca/Certified-Business-Analysis-Study-Guide/dp/0470932902/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1384061922&sr=8-2&keywords=CBAP

This is the book I refer to when I teach my CBAP boot camp.

I hope that this helps.

Re: Are there math questions on CBAP Exam

I just took and passed the cbap in Ohio, usa. There were no math questions whatsoever, no numerical questions. My study materials - Watermark Learning book and their simulated exam. I tried several other materials but the answers to questions were flakey, so I did not continue to use them.

(I have no affiliation with Watermark, btw).

Cheers,

T
