What should BA retrain in for agile?
Some companies are not seeing the need for business analysts in agile anymore. Whilst I don't agree the argument is that the product owner can do user stories and the developers can handle requirements discussions.
So, with companies that don't value the BA,v what should a BA retrain in or do in the future? The only valid rule I can think of is scrum master but that's more project management. The product owner belongs the the business side, not IT.

Re: What should BA retrain in for agile?

Hi Qwertyjjj,

For the last 8 years I've worked with my team of BAs (I'm a BA Manager) in Agile methodologies and not had a problem. The question of whether a BA is still needed in Agile is a bit of a dud one for me as I have never had a problem and if anything, my teams work requirements has gone up, not down.

If you find that your company no longer feels they need a BA, then I think it is more a company thing than a global wide instance. I would say just change company. There are plenty that still need BAs.
