What is Field service Management software? 

One of my friend enquired about Field Service management software. I started to search in the web sites regarding the field service management software. quite confusing. Doe's any one know about field service management software?

Sounds like a system that manages scheduling, work orders, status of the work orders, notes/details, client information etc.  Probably has reporting at the customer level, technician level, etc.  I'm sure some have a financial component to analyze billable hours to resource utilization.  

Honestly, you could probably hire a developer to build you database and front end that can achieve your goals.  I rarely suggest buying unless the solution aligns perfectly.
