Data flow diagram

Not sure if this would be the correct forum to post this question:

I am looking for Data flow diagram samples, text, papers any thing that can get some one up to speed on how to create such document.

Thanks

Hi there,

Ed Yourdon has been offering his book Just Enough Structured Analysis free online.  It's been a while since I read it, but I recall there were several chapters devoted to data flow diagrams.  It was very clear in its approch.

Take a look and let me know what you think of it.  It would be great to get another opinion.

Thanks Chris,

This was very helpful and it cleared some of the questions we were trying to answer. There was essentially confusion between the information that should be included on a data flow diagram (DFD) vs. data dictionary. Very good reading

You can also find an interesting article on data dictionaries in the articles section of this site.

The specific article is found here:  Implicit Data Dictionaries are Dangerous

It answers: Is this story clear, feasible...
In today's fast-paced digital world, successful projects aren't just built on great code—they're built on clarity. And that clarity often comes from one key player: the Business Analyst. At the heart of every great product or system is a need—a business goal, a customer pain point, or a regulatory requirement. But busines...
I have always loved cooking. I learned from my Grandma June and her kitchen was her sanctuary, a small, warm sunlit space filled with jars of spices, stacks of cookbooks, and the comforting smell of something always on the stove or baking in the oven. Grandma June was as great a cook as she was a teacher to me. She never followed a recipe “to...
