Delivery/implementation requirements
Modified By Chris Adams on 11/30/2013 7:49:48 PM)

 Hi all,

I've just picked up a requirements catalogue from a connected back which contains requirements which I would say are just actions as part of the delivery of the solution.

Essentially we are updating some products to be more up to date with the current market. Some of the requirements I'm questioning are:

  •  "All policy documents are to be updated prior to going live"
  • "Staff are to be trained on enhanced product changes prior to sign off"
  • "Email body text for product notifications are to be updated to reflect product changes prior to go live"
  • Etc.. Etc..

To me these just look like actions for a stakeholder and aren't a requirement of the actual solution to deliver. They have been put under loose categories of "communications" and "business delivered requirements".

Thoughts on whether such "requirements" are indeed valid for such a project?

Re: Delivery/implementation requirements

I will classify training and email requirements to be linked with delivery.

Although solution delivery provider may not responsible for these actions however it's critical (especially training) before go live.

Again it depends - which side you are representing on.

If you are from solution delivery side then you can challange it as it may not in your area (like poeple availability etc,) however if you are on other side (from solution receipent) then you can ask for it.

Let's hear other views.

Re: Delivery/implementation requirements

They are valid requirements.  The question is who is appropriate to deliver them and by what mechanism?

If we are capturing the requirements in these documents, then why the document nomenclature is different? The answer is Yes. We are capturing the...

Nowadays, companies like Audi and HSBC, use IT systems in everything they do. Does that make them to be IT companies rather than banks? Most would probably agree that HSBC is a bank, just as Audi is a car manufacturer. But what about digital banks such as Chime or companies offering digital products? In digital companies, most of the employees work...
