Can you explain what you mean by this?  I see two questions and I need to clarify both.

1. Descoping
By de-scoping do you mean cutting back features or requirements that are going to be deliverred?  Why are you considering this?  Is the solution too expensive?  Will it take too long?  Is it too complex or hard?

2. Perceptions of complexity
Here I am wondering who's perceptions and what is complex?  Is it the developers percieving the business problem as complex, or the business people perceiving the technical solution as complex?
