Desktop/Network Admin to Business Analyst

Hello,

I just recently found this site and have been reading a LOT! :) I've always wanted to make this transation and I'm looking to see if anyone else has made it successfully.

My last job consisted of planning & implementing network projects. The planning part is what I started to enjoy more and more. In my current company i've applied for a few BA roles that involve IT. I'm also trying to pursue a Master's degree in Systems Engineering later in the year.

Is there anything else I'm missing besides networking as much as possible on this and similar sites along with the IIBA?

Thanks!

Re: Desktop/Network Admin to Business Analyst

You will no doubt learn a ton of useful stuff as you pursue your degree in Systems Engineering however most such courses do not teach requirements engineering and business analysis.

If possible, you should attend a couple of specialized courses for business analysts.  There are many training providers which offer such training.
