I'm new here and am glad to have found a community to network with other analysts. I couldn't find any particular forum to post my question so I thought I'd put it in here.
I'm what I call a "B.A. by chance". I started out as a C.S.R. and moved my way up in the ranks at my company. They use the B.A. role very loosely. I somehow feel though that what I currently do is along the lines of a Business Process Analyst. I went through Lean Six Sigma training last year and because of the lack of sponsorhip by my manager I have been unable to obtain certification through my company. The only education I have is an Associate's degree in electroinics from ITT. I want to further my education in the area of Business Analysis with a focus on business process's and/or project management.
So my question is, has anyone gone through online training for Business Analysis ? I am currently looking to switch my jobs so I'm unable to do any on-site training but am wondering what online programs there may be. I started checking out the list of providers endorsed by the IIBA, but with so many to choose from, I would like to get any feedback from anyone on here who may have gone through online training.
Thanks !
Hi JL,
Glad to meet you here, I am also new to M.A. community and I hope to find here a connection between people with the same interests in business analysis . A couple a months ago, I had the same problem as you have now in finding a suitable online training. Because you're job is more process-centric I can recommand you a course based on BPM. You can look AIIM (please go to this link: http://is.gd/eB81) or, of course, IIBA, but for this option you must have at least 5-years experience or 7500 hours on projects. Also, there is a tough examination provided by BCS but a well-recognized diploma (http://www.bcs.org/server.php?show=nav.6934) among specialists (IT in particular). I wish you good luck in your choice!
