Ultimately YOU must specify the role the BA plays in your Data Migration project. As a starter, I can share with you slides and a terms of reference document for data migration that I have just done if you send me your email address to [email protected]

In terms of estimating effort required to do this work, I'm afraid there will be too many individual factors in your project for to be able to offer a reasoned guess.

Factors to consider are

1. how many source systems is the data comming from and how far back are you going

2. how many logical entities are there in the logical data model

3. how many target systems are there in the target system
