MSc in Business Analysis
Modified By mark235 on 12/9/2008 9:20:40 AM)

I have worked as a Business Analyst for a little over a year and am almost done getting my ISEB Business Analysis Diploma from the British Computer Society (http://www.bcs.org/server.php?show=nav.7704). I'm planning to start a Masters degree in Business Analysis next year. I've been debating with myself whether I should do this at Capella University, as I'm somewhat concerned about the quality and reputation of online learning.
These are the Cappella course details: http://www.capella.edu/schools_programs/business_technology/masters/business_analysis.aspx
The content of this course appeals to me, and I'm wondering whether there are any European universities that offer similar courses in Brick & Mortar schools (Preferably Intensive Study Programs). The University of Reading appears to offer an MSc in Business Analysis, but that one seems quite heavily geared towards economics, in stead of BA subjects. Does anyone know of any other MSc's?

Thanks in advance.

I would advise most people who post questions here at ModernAnalyst about online Universities to be careful about which one they choose.  As you have pointed out, some are more reputable than others.  However, you are in a slightly different situation since you seem to already have a Bachelor's degree.  While I can only comment on the situation in the states, usually a job position doesn't come down to whether or not you have a Master's degree unless they are specifically looking for an MBA.  Any other types of Master's degree are usually considered to be a nice to have.  With that said, if you feel the situation is similar in your area then choosing to get a Master's degree from an online university could suit you well.  It provides the flexibility of learning remotely and so long as you have selected a university that offers a strong curriculum, you will learn the skills you need to give yourself an edge in your job.

Focus on the curriculum and master your business analysis skills so that you are the clear choice the next time you interview for a position.
