Re: BA foundation

Hey

Thank you guys for the reply and appreciate the fact that there are two sides to a coin when it comes to career. I do not hold experience as a BA, as I have been working for the pre-sales and development for Oracl E-business suite and application which is strictly strategical and marketing. I have acquired technical knowledge from the training offered by Oracle.

But to start off as a BA, if the certification do not help, how do I get into a trainee BA to earn experience in the field. Afterall its the experience that counts.

Re: BA foundation

Sinu,

To answer your question "how do I get into a trainee BA to earn experience in the field" I refer you to the answer I gave you yesterday: "Most BAs I have come across migrated in to the role from working alongside projects in some capacity, adding value to the projects by doing analysis and then gaining enough recognition to get their job title changed"...

Is there any reason you could not do this?

Guy

Re: BA foundation

hey Guy

Sorry if I sound negative in terms of the approach. After careful screening , I do have interest in working as an analyst to do something different. I have been hearin from colleagues that the ISEB BA diploma is the right tool, bcoz I lack the understanding of what is needed in the field. After your suggestions, I do accept on board that after loads of experience , different titles are being acheieved.

Do you reckon BA won't be my cup of tea when you mentioned "Is there any reason you could not do this"?

Re: BA foundation

Sinu,

No - my question was just that: is there any reason why you could not get a role working alongside change projects in some capacity (technical, business or PMO - Project Management Office) and then move over to a BA role by getting involved as one and doing the BA work as much as you can alongiside other BAs (learning how they work at the same time)?

Whether it will be your cup of tea is entirely your call - I can't tell you what your favourite drink is!
