Where to start

Hi, Everybody, I am new here. I am a postgraduate student right now and about to graduate. I am majoring in business information management. But My undergraduate major is International business. I don't know much about programming but I do hope to be a BA. My question is what kind of jobs I should go for. I did some research on job market, it seems that project manager or business/system analyst is tailored to what I studied but I don't think I can get that kind of jobs. What position should I look for?

Re: Where to start

Here are some positions you could consider:

  • Junior BA
  • Associate Consultant
  • Entry Level Project Manager

Here are a couple more suggestions:

  • Consider taking a foundational course in Business Analysis offered by one a specialized training vendor,
  • If your university has a career center - check out what type of internship opportunities exist for the summer,
  • Make sure you interview with as many employers that come on campus as they are the ones more open to hire folks right out of college.

Re: Where to start

I have reviewed some of the courses listings offered as well as searched on "foundation".   Exactly which courses are " foundational course in Business Analysis"?

I am especially interested in online courses/video's because of my work schedule.

Thanks,

Tom

As Business Analysts in Agile teams, we often hear about Definition of Ready (DOR) and Definition of Done (DOD). But beyond the buzzwords, these two concepts are powerful tools to drive clarity, consistency, and quality in our work. Definition of Ready ensures a user story is truly ready for development. It answers: Is this story clear, feasible...
In today's fast-paced digital world, successful projects aren't just built on great code—they're built on clarity. And that clarity often comes from one key player: the Business Analyst. At the heart of every great product or system is a need—a business goal, a customer pain point, or a regulatory requirement. But busines...
I have always loved cooking. I learned from my Grandma June and her kitchen was her sanctuary, a small, warm sunlit space filled with jars of spices, stacks of cookbooks, and the comforting smell of something always on the stove or baking in the oven. Grandma June was as great a cook as she was a teacher to me. She never followed a recipe “to...
