Lead Business Systems Analyst CSU Long Beach

Another Source’s client, CSU Long Beach has an immediate opening for a Lead Business Systems Analyst to join their dynamic Admissions team in Long Beach, CA.  Once training is complete this can be a hybrid role (2 days in office, 3 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on operational needs.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $82,000 DOE. 

 

This position leads the ongoing development and maintenance of the CMS Admission Module functionality, supports the admissions module in all technical and reporting needs, and provides for the direct management and supervision of the Admissions Systems staff. 

 

How your time will likely be spent: 

Responsible for the development, monitoring, and execution of project plans in support of admission functionality.  
Coordinate and oversee the online system functionality in support of application processing, admission, and test score processing. This includes campus and external systems such as Cal State Apply and coordination with the various external parties.  
Coordinates the annual admission cycle start-up.  
Defines business processes. Determines table values and performs table building and maintenance in PS databases.   
Defines required reports to meet campus needs. Provides detailed specifications for advanced reports. Utilizes programming tools to generate reports from PeopleSoft using Query tools.  
Oversees testing methodology and execution. Verifies test results.  
Oversees and coordinates the Admissions Systems Support & Access Specialist on security requirements for the module.  
Identifies gaps in software functionality. Provides detailed analysis of system solutions and work-arounds.  
Recommends policy and business process changes in support of campus objectives compatible with PeopleSoft functionality and CSU Baseline Modifications.  
Analyzes and develops requests for system enhancements. Interfaces with Assistant Directors and leads for assessment and enhancement of existing system programs in meeting current or future system integrity user needs.  
Directs and coordinates system priorities with documentation trainer to create and maintain business process guides, end user training guides, and end user training curriculum. Assists in the execution of the training curriculum.  
Researches and responds to troubleshooting requests from administrators and office staff.  
Lead the Admissions Module though a technical approach to the Early Start initiatives.  
Daily assessment and dispensation of pre-Enrollment Management processes in preparation for timely and accurate admission decisions.  
Direct and coordinate the development and implementation of automated admission processes. 
Coordinate and plan the implementation of the annual admission updates in PeopleSoft.  
Serve as primary systems liaison with Student Administrative Systems group.  
Direct and coordinate the design, implementation, and support of OnBase Workflows.  
Oversees compliance with Chancellor Office ERS reporting requirement including timely submission of required data files.  
Supervise the performance of staff within the Admissions Module Unit, evaluating and conducting performance appraisals. Provide staff feedback and direction as appropriate.  
Serve as needed on campus and system-wide committees in support of admission module objectives.  

 

What we would like to see from you: 

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field and two years of related experience required. 
Thorough knowledge of on-line student information system (PeopleSoft preferred) and imaging systems.  
Proven ability to analyze user needs and translate into detailed specifications.  
Proven ability to design, develop, implement and maintain complex technical rules in support of business processes.  
Demonstrated ability to analyze data requirements and research data availability and access methods.  
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and manage staff with full knowledge of personnel policies and practices.  
Subject matter expertise in admission and the tools to automate these regulations and processes.  
Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes, and makes them available to supervisor.  
Ensures quality, usability and integrity of system data by working within approved processes and testing procedures.
