Volunteering my services as a BA
Modified By James-STL  on 7/21/2008 3:34:35 PM)

Greetings everyone.

I am slowly transitioning myself into the BA field. I am looking at volunteering my services to a local non-profit church. My goal is to automate that membership process and, at the same time generate some real time experience. It is this completed project that i will take to local consulting agencies for hiring purposes.

My question is this;

Isnt there some type of form that is used when volunteering billable services? I understand that there is a form where you can;

*outline your billable hours

*dictate that amount that you would charge

*state that this is volunteer work

I know that you can then claim this as a deduction on your IRS taxes. I did a search on the IRS website but to no avail. Has anyone ever used such a form? Has anyone created their own?

 I realize that this is called a pro-bono contract but i cannot find a standard form or template in which to model from

Very much interested in your feedback; as always

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

I haven't heard of such a form, but it would make sense that something like this exists.  Try checking the IRS website, and if you find it please share with the community here.

If anyone else in the community can answer James' question that would be great.

Re: Volunteering my services as a BA

Thanks for the feedback. I was able to find this contact link:

http://downloads.techrepublic.com.com/abstract.aspx?&kw=consulting+contract&docid=173867

I'm morphing this contract into one that is beneficial for my states use

Hopefully others can use this as well.
