Hi Faraz,
You might also consider a business/systems analyst position maybe leading to a Manager of Systems Analysis. This way you get to interact and understand the business while having to stay closer to the technology.
Consider moving into a systems analyst role first as it may be an easier transition from dev work then directly to business analyst.
Just a thought!

I think you are right as i'm thinking on the same line, instead of learning buisness analysis from scratch, I would try to get next role of System Analyst where i can do both. In this way i'll keep my existing profile and can learn analysis skills as well then i can easily go for certification.
Btw BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, how is it? can you do self study?does it worth doing?

I'm not sure about the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis. It sounds like a good program. Guy Beauchamp of Business Analyst Solutions might be able to provide you with more details on this program.
