Re: What are the words of Wisdom that experienced BAs can pass on to newbies?

Hi K

Thanks for the kind word. It was really good knowing the insides of the real life scenario while requirements gathering.

I have recently joined an IT company as a business analyst after my MBA prior to which i have done my engineering. The think which i ponder over is what are the additional skills that a Business Analyst should have apart from the basic core skills. Would some skills like knowing database relationships, any language etc would be really helpful. And what are the other such add on skills that i can acquire to boost my career.

Regards

Dev

Experienced BAs often advise newbies to focus on clear communication, actively listen to stakeholders, and ask the right questions. Emphasizing collaboration, staying curious, and continuously learning are key. It's also essential to manage expectations, prioritize effectively, and always document thoroughly. These practices build a strong foundation for success.
