Hi,
I am an aspiring BA. I do not have BA experience. I want to take a certification first and learn how BA is done before showing the certificate to my employer, so that they can allow me to lay my hands on something relevant to BA within the company. Without a certification it is difficult to convince them. With a certification, they will be more inclined to help me put to practice what I studied.
I see that IIBA certifications - CCBA and CBAP need experience in BA. Since I don't have it, what do I do? I feel IIBA is the best of the breed. Is there any other workaround?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Jithoo,
The IIBA designations are not educational certificates, they are demonstrations of a level of competency and experience as a BA. If you are looking to get into the field you should look at the various educational programs offered by IIBA Endorsed Education Providers. You can find a list of these providers on the IIBA website. Many of these providers offer online courses and will provide you with basic Business Analysis skills.

Hi Jarett,
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the excel sheet with IIBA EEP list. It did not offer me any details on the name of the EEP. Could you or anyone let me know some good IIBA EEP's in India. Thank you.
The name and website of each EEP is listed in the first two left columns of the spreadsheet - when I downloaded the spreadsheet the active cell was somewhere in the middle of the document. Scroll all the way to the left and you should see the names.
I searched through the list for 'India' and saw a few companies that have regional offices in India, however many of the providers offer online courses that can be taken from anywhere regardless of where the company is located.
Thank you Jarett.
