Modified By Adrian M. on 5/17/2009 5:49:29 PM)

We would love to hear your responses as well as thougths/comments on the following poll question proposed by Luka:

"What is missing from the organizations you work(ed) with, as a BA, to become a process-centric enterprise?"

Re: POLL: Process-centric enterprise

Adrian:

I voted "other".  When you are talking  "enterprise", you are talking big picture.   What I always see is a lack of a adequate big picture of processes and - especially - their essential interrelationships.

Everyone agrees that there should be quality control. But what does that mean? When we implement new methods in our laboratories, or develop new methods, or try to establish regulatory guidelines for performance of methods, or even inspect laboratories to assure that good quality management practices have been implemented. Our customers are looking for quality and quality means requirements. How do we define our requirements into measurable goals and try to improve the processes along with it?

The Voice of the Engineer
• recognize the importance of distinguishing between the customer's voice and the engineer's voice.
• Match customer requirements to their corresponding technical descriptors.
• choose technical descriptors that best convey customer requirements.
• sequence the customer requirements in order of priority.

Processes
• recognize the benefits of analyzing company processes.
• match the prioritized requirements to the corresponding organizational processes.
• sequence the steps of process analysis to use in given business scenarios.
• identify the examples of appropriate process improvement goals.

Cross-functional Quality Improvement Teams
• recognize the value of creating a cross-functional team for process improvement.
• identify the appropriate team roles for a process improvement team.
• identify the criteria for team member selection.
• select the appropriate expectations of management for a process improvement team.
Objective of the course:
Objectives:
• Recognize the benefits of understanding customer requirements.
• Differentiate between customer requirements and product features in business scenarios.
• Steps for creating a list of customer priorities.
• sequence the steps of process analysis to use in given business scenarios.
• recognize the value of creating a cross-functional team for process improvement.
• identify the appropriate team roles for a process improvement team.

Re: POLL: Process-centric enterprise

Let’s hope that whatever he planned he got that. Moreover if he achieved whatever he has decided then that would be beneficial for all.

Re: POLL: Process-centric enterprise

hi Adrian as per my point of view Process-centric enterprices  refers to an approach focusing on processes themselves, rather than on people or other components. Process-centric enterprices are based on different stages like discovery, implementation and maintenance.
