BPMN not wanted?

 Hi guys,

I have studied BPMN back at uni days and i really like how you model things with it, but i dont seem to find any roles that requires using this type of skills? I was expecting it to some kind of high modelling skills needed by BA. Im talking about for Australia though, tried doing a search on seek for BPMN but theres hardly anything on it. What are your thoughts on this.

Re: BPMN not wanted?

Hi Ludasky,

I'm in Sydney and can tell you that BPMN is in demand. Suggest you just look in seek for business analyst jobs with 'process' as a key word. I just went to seek and did that restricting to Sydney and the last 7 days and got 161 hits.

Recruiters and business people don't really care how the business process is modelled but your peers and IT will love BPMN. It much richer than the ridiculous thing in MS Visio.

What I generally do when asked to model a business process is just do it using BPMN and see if anyone objects. Haven't had a problem so far.

good luck

Kimbo

P.S. just went back and changed the keyword searched from 'process' to 'BPMN' and got 5 hits. Go for it.
