Graduate

Hello,

My name is Esther and  I graduated in July this year 2008.  I have a part-time job as an assistant admin which I got while schooling full time, but I obviously want to get a better job as a Business Analyst now I've graduated.

I have had very little training and work experience in BA from a one-to-one career coach, but I have not worked for a proper company as a BA. The career coach also did a CV for me which I was not satisfied with because it was way to professional, especially as I am a gradaute and also the CV said I had 2 years BA experience, when the training was just 4 days and experience working in a live project was about 2-3 weeks.

I have tried to redo the CV by adding details from my graduate CV and the CV the career coach did  for me. I also changed the duration about the experience by putting the right duration of 1-2 months as of the time I did the CV.

I have the PRINCE2 foundation certificate but do not wish to do the practitioner because I prefer to focus on business analysis not project management.

I have applied to so many companies for the role of  either graduate BA, graduate scheme or just BA and I have had just 1 interview for a graduate scheme which was not successful.

I would like to build up my BA skills so I can get more interviews and get a better job. I was thinking of taking the  ISEB diploma for business anayst but I was  wondering if the course was for people already working as business analysts and want to improve their BA skills or Companies sponsoring their staff on the courses.

Please can someone advise me on whether to go on and take the training, sponsoring myself at the same time keep applying for jobs with the little BA experience I have.

Thank you

Esther
