Can people share their experiences with respect to the best business analysis practice(s) you have implemented in your organization, where there was initially a lot of resistance in implementing it?
As a consultant I have done several BACoE's and have met with much resistance. My best approach is a very incremental approach -baby steps, if you will. Identify what your objectives are, for example "lower requirements defects by 10% by the end of Q3, 2014. Then identify all the elements that are needed to acheive that goal. Then set all of those elements into priority (many ways to look at that) and set a plan in place to implement the most important objectives that have the highest prority. Now you MUST do this as a matrix because you will see a lot of overlap from one objective to the next - AND THATS THE POINT! This matrix will drive the plan because you will see the which objectives will cover the fewest elements to be aquired - thus creating a highly incremental plan that will have less resistance.
Also - download Kitty Hass's white paper on building a COE. Its a must first read.
