Identify Functions

Dear All,

I am very new to SA. I need to present Business System Options to my senior PM for a information system he is designing for a library. He has given me a set of requirements. Now I need to prioritise them according to functional areas and the produce three BSO's. Please any suggestion on how I can identify functions or enquiry functions from the Data model or BAM.

Many thanks for your time in advance,

any help much appreciated,

Regards,

Re: Identify Functions

Hi:

How to derive required functions from a data model?  (What is a BAM?)  This is backwards.  Data Models are inert:  They do not guide an analyst through discovery.

Functional modeling (properly done) guides the BA through discovery.   Then, an understanding of the essential functions is used as a primary input into the creation of the Data Model.

Tony

Re: Identify Functions

I am not getting that what is BAM.

A function model is an activity model or process model, I hope it is a graphical representation of an enterprise's function within a defined scope.
