Description
 
iSoftStone, a leading Chinese BPO provider, is looking for a Lead Analyst who is an expert on structured products. The analyst will join a project within our client’s Structured Product trading area. The goal of this project is to ensure the integrity of the client’s trading books through rigorous reviews of historical trades.
 
Candidate will work in our client’s London office for a few months, identifying and establishing processes and procedures, and then the candidate will transfer this knowledge via writing SOPs and in-person training to team members in Shanghai. A successful candidate must demonstrate the highest professional behaviour, drive and commitment. The success of this project requires the candidate raptly adapt to and absorb the details of our client’s systems and methodologies. The ability to confront issues in a confident manner thus gaining the trust of colleagues and clients is essential.
 
Principal Responsibilities
 
1)      Reviewing complex, structured derivative deals and making sure trades are booked correctly and consistently. Extensive experience with term-sheets, confirmation system, trading system and risk management system is essential.
2)      Identifying problems, performance root cause analysis and provide solutions.
3)      Write SOPs so that iSoftStone team in Shanghai can perform re-booking when necessary.
4)      Organize, coordinate and train the BPO team members in Shanghai.
5)      Monitor BPO team’s performance to meet client’s requirement.
 
 
Critical Skills Required
 
1)      Experience with Structured Products is essential. This candidate will work with a diverse product range, including Credit Default Swaps, Interest Rate Swaps and other exotic OTC products. The candidate will be expected to pick up new processes and procedures quickly.
2)      Understand trading and trade life cycle in an Investment Bank capacity.
3)      Knowledge of path-dependent algorithms and pay-off calculations is a plus.
4)      Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action plans.
5)      Ability to identify control gaps with a control minded approach to developing solutions.
6)      Ability to co-ordinate and consolidate information from multiple sources.
7)      Organised mindset with strong project management skills.
8)      Highly responsive to client needs and excellent communication skills.
 
Candidate Specification
 
1)      Graduate or post graduate degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance or Accounting (MBA preferred).
2)      Fluent in English, competent in Chinese is a plus.
3)      At least 4 years of trade support related experience (Middle or back office, IT, Control, risk management or quantitative analysis).
4)      Knowledge of Investment banking deal flow from front to back office.
5)      Previous experience with a BPO company or transaction processing business is preferable.
6)      Strong Excel skills. VBA experience is desirable but not essential.
7)      A good understanding of P&L and risk management system is desirable.
