BPA and Java?

Question for all:

Alot of advertised process analysis jobs require skill in implementation technology such as Java.   I do not see how a BPA uses Java or other other implementation.  Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks,

Tony Markos

Re: BPA and Java?

Hi Tony,

For the most part, a Business Process Analyst (BPA) should not need to have technical skills such as Java, Web Services, SOA, etc.  The problem that is still persistent with employers is that they just give a title that sounds good to a set of skills which they are looking for in a candidate for a given position.  Even though those job posts are labeled as BPA - the reality is that most of them are probably for implementation specialists who can deploy Business Process Management Systems (BPMS).
