Anyone know Volgistics?

Hello!  I work at a veterinary facility (part of a larger complex) that uses volunteers.  They want to create/manage a database to store volunteer contact info., track hours, note special skills, and other things.  They're looking at Volgistics volunteer management software.  Has anyone here used that?  Has it got features Access doesn't?  I'm drawn to Access b/c I know it and Microsoft is behind it.  Moreover, much of thei facility's existing data is stored in Excel.   Of course Volgistics says data can be exported to them, and that they are customizable.

I want Access; but I don't want to re-invent the wheel!  Is Volgistics as flexible and easy to customize as its website claims?  And, does it allow data warehousing?

Thank you!
