New comer to BA

Hello Guys,

I get a new role (BA) in my work recently, and I start doing BA daily job 4 months ago, currenlty I am mentored by the PM and I didnt  communicate with the cklient except through the PM, I was a senior software engineer before.

I am thinking of taking the CBAP certificate, Is that a good decision? as I noticed that the pre-requisits for the application to be accepted is not available in my case, like 7500 hour of BA and so on.

What you think guys ?

Re: New comer to BA

Hi Rami,

You should wait to take the CBAP until you have the required hours of experience as a Business Analyst.  At this point in your career your goal should be to gain as much business analysis knowledge, skills, and experience as possible rather than focusing on certifications.

Consider taking a business analysis course or other related training.

Re: New comer to BA

It's possible, even likely, that you have performed some of the BA activities in your prior positions.  You can start your CBAP application now and document what you have done, can't hurt.  Also, I highly recommend documenting your experience as you go.  It's tedious and harder to do in hindsight.
