Greetings !! I am having 18 + years of exp and my current designation is Manager - System Analysis. Ex : Can I move in to typical management roles like PM, Delivery Owner, Director and VP etc or is there any specific roles exists which will also give equal recognition and salary package as management roles as mentioned earlier. I know this is quite an old post, but for those in the same position, I thought I would answer it.
Asa rule of thumb, those of you with People management experience and budget control will probably have the better opportunity to be a Head Of Department role. A Director role is possibly out of scope, unless your company is quite small.
If you don't have either or only one of those, then I would suggest you try to involve yourself with them if possible. Don't forget that you don't have to stay with the same company if you don't want to. Moving out, can also mean moving up.
If you aren't sure if you are a good fit, apply for roles which are what you are after and if you get an interview, but not the role, ask for feedback as to why. This should give you an idea of what you need.
