Hi,
I have years of experience in the IT (I started as an IT developer and made my path up to the Business Analysis). Now, after 6 years of BA, I'd like to take my career to the next level. I was wondering if Project Management is the only option that I have or there is something else I could aim at as I don't really like PM.
Cheers
There are many career options for a Business Analyst, here are some ideas:

I'll throw Management Consultant out there as well. Many of the typical tasks an MC has to fulfill are essentially BA duties (current state analysis, future state visioning, process re-engineering, etc.), just usually performed at a higher level across an entire organization. It's not so much of a new career, but rather one that focuses on a bigger picture than most BA's get to do in their typical project work.
The opportunities will depend on where your strengths lie, and where your interest is. Something like an 'Architect' role can be seen as the next step up - this could come in different flavours depending on your experience, such as a 'Technical Architect' or 'Business Process Engineer' etc. One of my clients has a role called 'Prinical Specialist' which is their next step from a Senior BA - in this role you are usually a product/domain expert and will be the over-arching guide on new initiatives, and in most cases lead a team of BA's.
