I need software for Sales Analysis

Hello !

Can you please recommend me good software for Sales Analysis, Sales Forecasting and Sales Reporting ( Business Intelligence ) ?
I need this program for my personal use, so it should not be very expensive.

Re: I need software for Sales Analysis

Hi there,

do you have the facility to download data from a mainframe in CSV or other formay compatible with EXCEL?

I have found this is is the chaepest way of doing sales analysis.

Download all the data avaialble and save that in a worksheet and then copy or reference from that raw data to other tabs within the worksheet to do your macro/micro analysis.

Re: I need software for Sales Analysis

The best and ideal solution is implementing Business Intelligence and if you don't want to spend huge amount on top vendors like Microsoft and IBM then try implementing open source solution such as Jasper Soft.

Do note implementing BI will take time and if you don't have that, Excel is the only solution you have instantly available with features like Pivot Table and all…

You can create a sales report in Excel manually and use Pivot Table to see the data. The pivot table allows you to view your source data in different ways to combine them or have them evaluate it. Due to the free positioning of the rows and columns in a Pivot Table differing views and analysis are given. Your source data is not changed.

Open source is a good choice like R. But it's a bit difficult to use since its UI is not very friendly. Another similar product is esProc. It can do complex computing and it's cheap. Excel is also not expensive and easy to use.
