Generate flowcharts on the fly based on text / notes
Modified By Adrian M. on 3/14/2016 9:47:14 PM)

Hi,

We just launched a new online diagramming tool that generates flowcharts based on text. As a BA, I always thought that doing diagrams with traditional tools was too long just because we need to format shapes, position or connect them. So I wanted a tool that allows to write down my ideas and generates a professional looking diagram for me. This is what I have decided to build with textografo. We are in beta and we would really like to get feedback from the BA community. Just go to textografo.com and create a (free) account. That would be great to know what you think about it. Thanks!

Re: Generate flowcharts on the fly based on text / notes

Julien,

Thanks for sharing.

I went through the product evaluation and I think the tool has good potential. Here are some of my thoughts:

  • Pros:
    • Easy to Use
    • The tool seems like it could save time in creating diagrams once you get the hang of the commands
      • I especially like how the bridges are handled.
  • Improvement Needed:
    • The text and grammar within the tool (as well as on the tool's website) needs to be cleaned up - as of now, it reads like the tool was created by someone who's primary language is not English.
    • For the common user, there should be additional simple export options in addition to exporting to PNG (such as PDF)
    • I could not find a way to use a custom theme/coloring option
    • The log-in page needs to be improved so it looks more legitimate. I almost did not try out the tool because I did not feel good about registering on an unclear log-in page.

Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss further.

Introduction   When I was introduced to scrum, the burndown chart was a tool that was highly emphasised however I feel the purpose has changed from it being a tool to predict (to a certain level) timescales for delivery to a tool that measures a team’s productivity…..in other words, the focus is on the number of points clear...
