Solution Proposed by stakeholders

What would you do as a BA if two stakeholders who have equal authority propose solutions and debate over which one is better? How would you define better?

Answer: Would document both solutions and discuss with architects and domain experts which one is more feasible(better) and get back to the stakeholders. Stakeholders still adamant about their own solutions then will have to bring in higher authority.Would also check with the current market trend if it is beneficial to establish proposed solutions.

Both stackholders which one you want easily and simple those you can selected . Selected stackholder are beneficial to current market trends. A Stakeholder Analysis can be used as a tool of contextual thinking, which occurs during the CPS stage Exploring Acceptance , or in the stage Plan for Action .

Escalate, there can ultimate only be a single owner/decisionmaker of a solution. Alternately I would have them both assign value to their solutions. I can go further into how to do that if you are actually still around and reading the forum :) (this post is from april)

Re: Solution Proposed by stakeholders

An additional thing to consider if the stakeholders are business stakeholders, is why are they proposing a solution anyway. Look behind their solutions to the real business requirement and then see what solution you think will work for that. It may actually be a third solution
