Hi all,
I'm new to this site and already found that it's very helpful. I hope that someone could give advice about my career situation. I have a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Master in Information Systems. I started my professional career about 5 years ago as a Financial Analyst and then moved on to Fortune 500 company where I utilized both of my skills, Accounting and Information Systems. I have experience in using SQL Server and have advance skills in Microsoft Excel and Access. I understand database and can write a simple to intermediate SQL script. I recently got the opportunity to become a Business Analyst working on system enhancements of the in-house application for a Home Warranty company. After this experience, I realize that this is probably a career path I'd like to take. I'd love to interact with people and would like to utilize my business and technical skills. However, I've been seeking employment and come across some Business Analyst opportunities that require experience in either Oracle, SAP, Hyperion etc which I don't have.
So here's my question, is there anything I should do that would help me get my foot in the door as I believe I'm a quick learner that can learn and master new tasks quickly and efficiently.Or is there any certifications I should take to increase my credential so I can be given one of those opportunities.
Thank you very much. Any recommendation/ advice/ guidance are really appreciated.
