Hi All,
I'm taking a training to become BA. I have a one line requirement for my project and I need some assistance to understand some new terms in finance domain.
"How does a Finance company introduce a new product for collaborative farming which will increase the market share by 5%"
I'm going through the farmer loan programs available but nothing talks about collaborative farming. Is there any other standard term for Collaborative farming that is been used in Finance industry?
Any help regarding this would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Kate.
Hi Kate,
I don't believe that collaborative farming is a finance term. I believe it refers to the practice of farmers (generally small farmers) collaborating together in order to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and add value to their farm businesses.
The collaboration can be in many forms, for example sharing resources such as an expensive piece of machinery.
In your case, as a Business Analyst, you would have to be familiar with two business domains: finance and farming.
One financial product targeting collaborative farming might be a loan for the joint purchase of farming equipment.

Thanks a lot Adrian. I found out that Collaborative farming is just a tricky word given to me for Community supported Agriculture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community-supported_agriculture
I have to comeup with a financial product that is attractive enough to make the farmer come and invest/deposit all the money they got from the customers in the bank. I want to know is there a product available like this in the market.
