How is your team structured?

Hello! The company I work for is currently revamping our IT department. Included in this is the IT BA staff. I'm wondering -- how are your BA's "assigned" to development areas, and what do you find to the be benefits of that structure?

Leadership is specifically asking: Should we disassemble the core IT BA team and spread them out across the 10 applications we write in house? Or should we leave them as a separate team and pull resources based on project need?

Thanks for your insight - it is much appreciated!
