UML - Business Use Case Question

 Hello,

Are external systems not depicted in business use case diagrams?  I'm asking b/c I'm looking at an example where the external system is in the system use case package and role map, but not the business use case.

Thanks

Re: UML - Business Use Case Question

Can you clarify whether or not you make a distinction between a "use case" and a "business use case?"

Re: UML - Business Use Case Question

 Hello,

Yes, there is a distinction b/w business and system use cases.  I'm wondering if external systems not depicted in business use case diagrams.

Thanks

Re: UML - Business Use Case Question

An actor that interacts with a use case (business or technical) can be a user role or another system. The system can be one in your organisation or outside the organisation. The point is it isn't the system (manual, computer based or mixed) you are defining.
