Heh, Hope all is well with everyone and we can all say TGIF.
But as far as work goes does anyone know of any resourses or ay kick start documents for designing/specing an online banking interface?
I need to start looking at doing the online portion to a current back office banking application.
Any advise and help greatly appreciated,
Tank,
In Australia we have the AS2805 series of standards for electronic funds transfer. Do a search for AS2805.1, AS2805.2, AS2805.3...AS2805.10 etc.
For example: AS 2805.16-2008 Electronic funds transfer - Requirements for interfaces - Merchant category codes
AS 2805.3.2-2008 Electronic funds transfer - Requirements for interfaces - PIN management and security - Offline
AS 2805.8-1986 (superseded) Electronic funds transfer - Requirements for interfaces - Financial institution message content
South Africa should have similar standards, check with your Bureau of Standards and the Banking Association.
These documents define what you need to do so you dont have to re-invent the wheel. I have used 2805.8 (1986) to specify front-office (retail) banking applications in th elate 1980s. All the best!
warm regards,
K
I forgot to mention, checkout the ISO standards and SWIFT.
What I would do is study the online banking features available at some of the larger banks since they probably spent some dollars interviewing customers and making improvements based on their feedback.
