Requirements gathering

Hi i am working as a data analyst in an IT company with more than 2 years experience. Planning to start my career as BA in the same company. My doubt is in the current times does BA uses use cases for requirement gathering from clients or just word to document? What are the usual techniques used for requirement gathering in the IT industry?

Re: Requirements gathering

Hi Ravi,

Lots of different techniques are used. Depends who you work for. Lots more agile projects happening with user stories for instance. Try joining the IIBA www.iiba.org and read the BABoK. Talks about the different techniques people use (I think. Still haven't read it myself yet :) )
